How do I take Acanya?
Acanya is dosed as follows:
- Clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide comes in many strengths and brand names that can have different instructions. Talk to your provider to see how many times per day to apply the medication
- In general, the typical dose is a pea-sized amount applied to the face once daily. There is a certain strength of clindamycin/benzoyl peroxide that should be applied twice daily
Is it safe for me to take Acanya?
Acanya is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have a a history of regional enteritis, ulcerative colitis, or antibiotic–associated colitis.

Acanya Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Acanya. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Inflammation of your large intestine: diarrhea that does not go away, especially if it is bloody, severe stomach cramps
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Acanya
The following medications may interact with Acanya:
- Acanya Gel should not be used in combination with erythromycincontaining products because of its clindamycin component
