Dating apps are more commonplace than ever in the world today, and many offer features where users can change their location to one more desirable. But where should people be setting their location? By looking at data for a number of dating factors for the biggest cities in the US and the UK, the experts at NowPatient can reveal the top dating cities.
San Francisco had the highest dating score and was the only city to score higher than a 9.4, the city has the highest density of romantic places and ideas available, with 325 (6.93 per square mile) There are also 106 restaurants on average per square mile in the city, and almost 7 nightlife venues in the same area (the most of any city).

Boston is the second-best city in the United States for dating. The Massachusetts city offers many date locations such as numerous Irish bars, or parks along the Mystic River. The score was courtesy of there being the highest number of Google searches for date ideas in the city, as well as high scores for restaurants and bars.

The coastal Florida city enjoys temperatures of 28 degrees in the summer, so a beachfront date might be in order. There are 121 restaurants per square mile on average in Miami, many featuring seafood dishes from the region. It was the final city to score higher than a 9, and there are almost five dating activities per square mile.

Chicago was the fourth-best city in the US for dating. There were over 42,000 Google searches for date ideas in Chicago, and there are almost 40 restaurants per square mile to go on a date.

Seattle has 41 restaurants per square mile, and four nightlife venues per square mile, there were over 24,000 Google searches for date ideas in the city and 184 romantic activities (2.2 per square mile).

The best city to go on a date in the United Kingdom is Manchester. The North West city is home to a plethora of bars and restaurants. Perhaps a view of the city from twenty floors up, or a canal-side bite to eat. There is something in Manchester to fit everyone's taste on a date night.

Another North West city takes second place, as Liverpool just loses out to its local rival Manchester in terms of the best city to go on a date. The city on the banks of the Mersey performs slightly worse in almost every category but is still a fantastic place for a date with a great overall score.

Leeds makes it a hattrick of northern cities at the top of the rankings, as it seems crossing the Pennines doesn’t stop the quality of the dating scene. There are more restaurants per square mile on average in Leeds than in Liverpool, but fewer nightlife and romantic venues.

Nottingham is the legendary city of Robin Hood and had he been alive today he would have been in a great location to take Maid Marian out on a date, as Nottingham is the fourth-best city in the country for dates.

The best city for dating in the south of England is Bristol. There were almost 10,000 searches for date ideas in Bristol, more than Leeds or Nottingham. But there are fewer restaurants and nightlife spots in Bristol than in those two cities above it.

Google keyword planner was used to find searches for “date ideas in city” between May 2021 and April 2022 in the UK for UK cities and in the US for US cities.
