What should you do if you use too much tolvaptan?
Call your doctor right away or seek immediate medical attention if your symptoms do not improve or they become worse after using tolvaptan. You can also call 800-222-1222 to reach the American Association of Poison Control Centers or use its online resource if you think you’ve used too much tolvaptan. But if you have severe symptoms, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately or go to the nearest emergency room.

- Avoid grapefruit or grapefruit juice while taking this medication
- It is not known if tolvaptan passes into breast milk. Speak to your doctor before breast-feeding

Serious side effects such as liver failure (pain in the upper stomach, dark urine, loss of appetite, yellowing of the eyes or skin) are possible, but less common. Symptoms include hives, trouble breathing, worsening shortness of breath, sore throat, chest pain, swelling of the face, tongue or throat, red skin lesions, blisters, and serious skin reactions.
