ticagrelor is an antiplatelet that is used for heart attack and stroke prevention.
How does ticagrelor work?
ticagrelor is an antiplatelet medication. When you bleed, blood cells called platelets help form clots to help stop the bleeding. However, clots can be dangerous if they form in your blood vessels since they can block blood flow, which can lead to a heart attack or stroke. By preventing your platelets from sticking together and forming dangerous blood clots, it lowers your risk of heart attack or stroke.
