REZVOGLAR is available as a 100 units/mL (U-100) KwikPen prefilled pen.
What is REZVOGLAR used for?
REZVOGLAR is an insulin and is used for the following:
- Type 1 diabetes in adults and children
- Type 2 diabetes in adults
How does REZVOGLAR work?
REZVOGLAR is an insulin. Insulin is a hormone in your body that lowers glucose (sugar) levels in the blood. It helps your body absorb and use sugar from your blood for energy. It also stops your liver from making glucose.
How do I take REZVOGLAR?
REZVOGLAR is dosed as follows:
Type 1 diabetes: The recommended starting dose is about one-third of your total daily insulin requirements injected under the skin once daily. Your provider will help calculate your dose, so follow their instructions carefully. Use Rezvoglar (insulin glargine) with a short-acting (or rapid-acting), premeal insulin to meet the remainder of your daily insulin requirements.
- Type 2 diabetes: The recommended starting dose is 0.2 units/kg of body weight (or up to 10 units) injected under the skin once daily
- Your starting dose might differ if you’re switching to REZVOGLAR from other insulin products
Is it safe for me to take REZVOGLAR?
REZVOGLAR is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you are experiencing hypoglycemia.
REZVOGLAR Common Side Effects
Common side effects of REZVOGLAR:
- Upper respiratory tract infection
- Swelling in arms or legs
- High blood pressure
- Flu-like symptoms
- Sinus infection
- Cataract
- Bronchitis
- Accidental injury
- Headache
- Infection
- Sore throat
- Runny nose
REZVOGLAR Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with REZVOGLAR. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Dangerously low blood sugar: shakiness, nervousness, weakness, confusion, fast heartbeat, sweating, body chills, and extreme hunger. If not treated, it can lead to unconsciousness, seizures, and even death
- Low potassium levels: weakness, muscle cramps or twitches, abnormal heartbeat, kidney problems
Severe allergic reactions: breathing problems; rash; fast heartbeat; swelling in your face, mouth, or throat
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on REZVOGLAR
The following medications may interact with REZVOGLAR:
- Drugs that affect glucose metabolism: Adjustment of insulin dosage may be needed
- Antiadrenergic Drugs (e.g., beta-blockers, clonidine, guanethidine and reserpine): Signs and symptoms of hypoglycemia may be reduced or absent

Published studies with REZVOGLAR used during pregnancy have not reported an association between it use and the induction of major birth defects, miscarriage, or adverse maternal or fetal outcomes. If you become pregnant while receiving REZVOGLAR, talk to your healthcare provider.
