How does OCREVUS work?
OCREVUS is a monoclonal antibody. It’s not exactly known how the medication works, but it’s thought to work by attaching to certain proteins on the surface of immune cells to change how they function. This might help lower inflammation and symptoms of MS.
How do I take OCREVUS?
You’ll receive 300 mg injected into the veins (intravenously or IV) every 2 weeks for the first two treatments. Then, you’ll receive 600 mg IV every 6 months for your following treatments.
Is it safe for me to take OCREVUS?
OCREVUS is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have any of the following.
- Active hepatitis B virus infection
- History of life-threatening infusion reaction to OCREVUS
OCREVUS Common Side Effects
Common side effects of OCREVUS:
- Upper respiratory tract infections
- Infusion reactions
- Skin infections
- Lower respiratory tract infections
- Back pain
OCREVUS Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with OCREVUS. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious allergic reactions: hives, rash, itching, dizziness, fever, shaking, flushing, trouble breathing, chest pain
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on OCREVUS
The following medications may interact with OCREVUS:
- The concomitant use of OCREVUS and other immune-modulating or immunosuppressive therapies, including
- immunosuppressant doses of corticosteroids, is expected to increase the risk of immunosuppression
- The safety and effectiveness of live or live-attenuated vaccines administered concomitantly with OCREVUS have not been assessed.

Is OCREVUS safe in pregnancy?
It is not known if OCREVUS will harm your unborn baby. You should use birth control (contraception) during treatment with OCREVUS and for 6 months after your last infusion of OCREVUS. Talk with your healthcare provider about what birth control method is right for you during this time .Pregnancy Registry. There is a pregnancy registry for women who take OCREVUS during pregnancy. If you become pregnant while receiving OCREVUS, tell your healthcare provider right away. Talk to your healthcare provider about registering with the OCREVUS Pregnancy Registry. The purpose of this registry is to collect information about your health and your baby’s health. Your healthcare provider can enroll you in this registry by calling 1-833-872-4370
