What is Mavenclad used for?

How does Mavenclad work?
Mavenclad is a purine antimetabolite. It is not fully understood how it works, but it’s thought to treat MS by killing lymphocytes, a type of white blood cell (WBC). Normally, WBCs protect your body from infections. But in people with MS, they can attack your nerves and cause inflammation (swelling). So Mavenclad treats MS by killing these WBCs to protect your nerves.
How do I take Mavenclad?
Your total dose of Mavenclad depends on your weight (3.5 mg/kg). The total dose isn’t taken all at once, but each treatment course is divided in half and taken about 1 year apart. Each treatment course is also divided into two treatment cycles, about 1 month apart.
