What is Cibinqo used for?
Cibinqo is a JAK inhibitor and is used to treat moderate-to-severe atopic dermatitis (eczema) in people age 12 years and older who didn’t respond to other treatments.
How does Cibinqo work?
Cibinqo is a janus kinase (JAK) inhibitor. It blocks an enzyme (protein) called JAK in the body that plays a role in inflammation. By stopping this enzyme from working, Cibinqo lowers inflammation to relieve symptoms of atopic dermatitis.
How do I take Cibinqo?
Cibinqo is typically started at 100 mg by mouth once a day. Your provider might raise your dose to 200 mg once a day if your skin symptoms haven’t improved after 3 months. Your dose might differ if you have kidney problems, if you’re taking a medication that interacts with Cibinqo, if your body breaks down Cibinqo poorly based on genetic testing, or if you’re having side effects.
Is it safe for me to take Cibinqo?
Cibinqo is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. Antiplatelet therapies except for low-dose aspirin (≤81 mg daily), during the
first 3 months of treatment.

Cibinqo Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Cibinqo. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Stroke: sudden weakness in your body, trouble speaking, confusion, dizziness
- Arterial thrombosis (blood clot in the heart): chest pain; short of breath; pain in the jaw, neck, or back; feeling weak or light-headed
- Pulmonary embolism (blood clot in the lung): cough, chest pain, trouble breathing, racing heart
- Deep vein thrombosis (blood clot in the leg): leg cramp, swelling, pain, muscle tightness
- Serious bleeds: bleed or bruise easily, bleeding that’s hard to stop, coughing blood, stomach pain, blood in urine or stool
- Serious infections: fever, difficulty breathing, diarrhea, weakness, cough, stomach pain, sweating, chills, burning when you urinate, urinating more often
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Cibinqo
The following medications may interact with Cibinqo:
- Strong inhibitors of CYP2C19: The recommended dose is 50 mg daily or 100 mg once daily for those patients who are not responding to 50 mg once daily
- Moderate to strong inhibitors of both CYP2C19 and CYP2C9, or strong
- CYP2C19 or CYP2C9 inducers: Avoid concomitant use.
- P-gp substrate where small concentration changes may lead to serious or life-threatening toxicities: Monitor or titrate dosage of P-gp substrate
