Bevespi Aerosphere is a combination inhaler. It contains two medications that work together to help treat COPD symptoms:
- Glycopyrrolate is a long-acting muscarinic antagonist (LAMA). It’s a type of anticholinergic medication that act on receptors in the lungs to improve your breathing
- Formoterol is a long-acting beta agonist (LABA). It relaxes and opens up the airways in your lungs to help you breathe easier
How do I take Bevespi Aerosphere?
The typical dose of Bevespi Aerosphere is 2 puffs inhaled through the mouth twice per day in the morning and evening.
Is it safe for me to take Bevespi Aerosphere?
Bevespi Aerosphere is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication in the following:
Use of a LABA, including formoterol fumarate, one of the activ e ingredients inBEVESPI AEROSPHERE, without an inhaled corticosteroid is contraindicated in patients with asthma. Hypersensitivity to glycopyrrolate, formoterol fumarate, or to any component of this product
Bevespi Aerosphere Common Side Effects
Common side effects of Bevespi Aerosphere:
- Cough
- Urinary tract infection
- Chest pain
- Headache
- Dizziness
- Dry mouth
Bevespi Aerosphere Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Bevespi Aerosphere. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious allergic reaction: hives, swelling of your face, lips, or tongue, difficulty breathing
- Sudden narrowing of your airways: difficulty breathing, wheezing, chest pain or tightness, cough
- Heart problems: dizziness, fatigue, tremor, nausea, rapid heartbeat, weakness, or difficulty sleeping
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Bevespi Aerosphere
The following medications may interact with Bevespi Aerosphere:
- Other adrenergic drugs may potentiate effect: Use with caution
- Xanthine derivatives, steroids, diuretics or non-potassium sparing diuretics may potentiaten hypokalemia or ECG changes. Use with caution
- Diuretics: Use with caution. Electrocardiographic changes and/or hypokalemia associated with non-potassium sparing diuretics may worsen with concomitant beta2-agonists
- Monoamine oxidase inhibitors and tricyclic antidepressants: Use with extreme caution.
- May potentiate effect of formoterol fumarate on cardiovascular system
- Beta-blockers: Use with caution and only when medically necessary
- Anticholinergics: May interact additively with concomitantly used anticholinergicnmedications. Avoid administrations of Bevespi Aerosphere with other anticholinergiccontaining drugs
