Siliq is a monoclonal antibody that binds to receptors (proteins) in your body to lower the number of cells that cause inflammation.
How do I take Siliq?
Siliq is dosed as follows:
- The typical dose of Siliq starts out with three starter doses at weeks 0, 1, and 2, and then you’ll take it every 2 weeks. Siliq comes in a single-dose prefilled syringe that contains 210 mg (1.5 mL) of medication
- Week 0 (beginning of treatment): Inject 210 mg under the skin once
- Week 1: Inject 210 mg under the skin once
- Week 2: Inject 210 mg under the skin once
- Week 4 and on: Inject 210 mg under the skin once every 2 weeks
Is it safe for me to take Siliq?
Siliq is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication if you have Crohn’s disease.

Siliq Serious Side Effects
Serious side effects are rare with Siliq. Contact your healthcare provider immediately if you experience any of the following.
- Serious infections: fever, difficulty breathing, cough that won’t go away, night sweats, confusion, feeling very tired, diarrhea, chills
- Suicidal thoughts and behaviors
Effects of other drugs, drug classes and over-the-counter products on Siliq
The following medications may interact with Siliq:
- Live Vaccinations: Avoid use of live vaccines in patients treated with Siliq
- CYP450 Substrates: The formation of CYP450 enzymes can be altered by increased levels of certain cytokines (e.g., IL-1, IL-6, IL-10, TNFα, IFN) during chronic inflammation. Treatment with Siliq may modulate serum levels of some cytokines
- Therefore, upon initiation or discontinuation of Siliq in patients who are receiving concomitant drugs which are CYP450 substrates, particularly those with a narrow therapeutic index, consider monitoring for effect (e.g., for warfarin) or drug concentration (e.g., for cyclosporine) and consider dosage modification of the CYP450 substrate
