How does PROLIA work?
PROLIA is a monoclonal antibody. It blocks a protein in your body that sends signals to break down your bones. This prevents bone loss and helps strengthen your bones.
How do I take PROLIA?
PROLIA is an injection that’s typically given to you by your healthcare provider.
The typical recommended dose is 60 mg injected under the skin of your upper arm, upper thigh, or stomach once every 6 months.
Is it safe for me to take PROLIA?
PROLIA is a safe and effective treatment when used for FDA licensed indications. However, like all medications, they may give you unwanted side effects. You should always discuss potential side effects with your physician to ensure the medication is suitable and right for you. You should not use this medication in the following:
Hypocalcemia.
Pregnancy.
Known hypersensitivity to PROLIA.
PROLIA Common Side Effects
Common side effects of PROLIA:
- Back pain
- Pain in your arms and legs
- Pain in your muscles, bones, joints, or nerves
- High cholesterol levels
- Pain or discomfort while urinating and other symptoms of a bladder infection
- Sensation that the room is spinning
- Swelling in the hands and feet
- Cough, sore throat, and other symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection

Serious allergic reactions: dizziness, trouble, tightness in your throat, swelling in your face and throat, itchiness, rash

Tell your doctor right away if you become pregnant while taking PROLIA.
