Everything you need to know about Conditions A-Z pages
NowPatient provides a comprehensive and up-to-date source of information about medical conditions. Our editorial team consists of board-certified pharmacists and clinicians who curate each page. The editorial process ensures safeguards and controls are in place to ensure the content that is produced is trustworthy, comprehensive and safe.
We use up-to-date sources to produce information about conditions. These sources include The US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), The UK Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) and the US National Library of Medicine (NLB).
The Conditions A-Z pages we produce also provide shortcuts to medications that are used to treat that condition.
We have a strict editorial process. Selection is based on our clinician’s own practice experiences and wider industry trends. The health conditions content is selected by our panel of clinicians which includes pharmacists, doctors and other allied healthcare professionals. We aim to produce content that is meaningful and relevant to our users.
Once a medical condition has been accepted and identified for production, our in-house team of content writers get started on research. Our medical writers will only use high-quality evidence-based clinical information sources to ensure integrity of the content being produced. Our team of in-house content writers, all have scientific or medical backgrounds. We do not use non-medical writers in our content production workflows. Any advertising or potential conflicts of interest (e.g. Sponsorship) are clearly declared.
Our medical review process focuses on the clinical and scientific accuracy of the content. At the medical review stage, the pre-accepted content, is peer reviewed by a clinician. We may use clinicians with certain specialities to do the review. Our medical review clinicians will check for clinical accuracy, and cross-reference sources of information used to produce the content. They will also check if the content affects people with “protected characteristics” (Equality Act 2010). This is relevant for UK users. In addition, they may propose changes if they believe the content could prove difficult for users who struggle to read or understand words and numbers.
Consultations, prescriptions, medication delivery, health monitoring – all in one place.
We are a broad skilled and passionate group of clinicians with experience of operating in regulated health systems in the United Kingdom & United States. Providing excellent care and advice is at the heart of everything we do.
