White, round, convex lozenge marked NL2 or NL4 containing:
2mg or 4mg nicotine
Dosage
Abrupt cessation: Adult smokers 18 years and over:
Step 1 (weeks 1 to 6): 1 lozenge every 1 to 2 hours. During weeks 1 to 6 use at least nine lozenges per day. Do not use more than 15 lozenges per day.
Step 2 (weeks 7 to 9): 1 lozenge every 2 to 4 hours.
Step 3 (weeks 10 to 12): 1 lozenge every 4 to 8 hours.
For the next 12 weeks use 1 to 2 lozenges a day only when strongly tempted to smoke.
A healthcare professional should be consulted if having difficulty discontinuing lozenges.
Allow lozenge to dissolve in the mouth, occasionally moving lozenge from one side to the other, until dissolved (about 20-30 minutes).
Do not chew or swallow whole.
Gradual cessation: use a lozenge whenever there is a strong urge to smoke to reduce the number of cigarettes as far as possible then start on abrupt cessation.
Maximum 15 lozenges a day.
Professional advice should be sought if there is no reduction in cigarette consumption after 6 weeks.
