  • Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic (water pill) that helps the kidneys eliminate excess salt and water from the body. By increasing urine production, it helps lower blood volume and reduce blood pressure

It is important to inform your healthcare provider about all the prescription drugs, over the counter nonprescription medications, salt substitutes, herbal products, supplements, and vitamins you are taking to avoid potential adverse effects and drug interactions.
